The New England Patriots finished the 2024 NFL season 4-13 and have plenty of work to do in the offseason. New England made moves during free agency, and the Patriots now shift their focus to the 2025 NFL Draft. Who could they target in the first round? Let’s take a look.

Patriots Select No. 4 in Round 1

The Patriots hold the No. 4 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. The Titans select first, the Browns have the second pick, and the Giants are slotted at No. 3, but there has been plenty of talk about potential trades. This could have a major impact on which player is available for New England.

The Patriots added OT Morgan Moses and center Garrett Bradbury in free agency, but the offensive line still has more work to do if they want to protect young quarterback Drake Maye. This means the Patriots could lead toward picking between one of the two best tackles in the draft.

Armand Membou from Missouri is climbing draft boards thanks to great testing at the combine. He moves well for his size and has the skill set to develop as a great pass blocker. Will Campbell is a powerful drive blocker and is smooth when getting his feet set. Either player would be another valuable asset moving forward.

EDGE Rusher Abdul Carter

The top three picks in the draft (TEN, CLE, NYG) need quarterbacks, which means the Patriots could see the best player in the draft fall in their lap. Depending on how things shake out, edge rusher Abdul Carter might be available at No. 4 and will likely be too good to pass up. The Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year would be a fantastic addition to a defense that added a lot of players during free agency, including edge rusher Harold Landry III, DT Milton Williams, and LB Robert Spillane.

What About CB/WR Travis Hunter?

The Patriots are in need of versatile weapons, which means that CB/WR Travis Hunter is another potential option for New England in the first round. Hunter is an elite cornerback and wide receiver who is dangerous with the ball in his hands. It’s unclear how he will be used in the NFL, but he would become Drake Maye’s top option on offense.

Hunter could be used at cornerback as well, but the Patriots do have Christian Gonzalez. Also, they went out during free agency to sign Carlton Davis III. Regardless, Travis Hunter would give the team a versatile weapon that the Pats could use on either side of the ball.
